What is Custom Fitting?
Why Get Custom Fitted?
Custom fitting is a science. By analysing key performance data we can accurately determine the best equipment for your swing. For example, dividing ball speed by club head speed gives us your smash factor, just one of the many measurements we use to evaluate how efficiently you are striking the ball.
During your fitting we will analyse important data points such as club head speed, ball speed, backspin, launch and shot dispersion, helping us build a clear picture of how your current clubs perform and where improvements can be made.
Rather than worrying about the numbers yourself, we’ll guide you through everything during the session and explain what it means with the clubs in your hand, allowing you to focus on enjoying your future rounds with equipment that truly suits your swing.
With over 18 years of experience as a PGA Professional and extensive custom fitting knowledge, you can be confident that we will help you find the perfect setup. While it may be tempting to search online for bargains, the reality is that equipment chosen without the correct fitting rarely gives you the best chance to improve your game.
As TaylorMade Master Fitters since 2019, we have the experience and tools to ensure every club is properly matched to your swing.
Using the latest TrackMan 4, Titleist RCT Golf Balls, and the Mizuno Swing DNA Shaft Optimizer, we can gather detailed information in a small number of shots. This allows us to focus on finding the right equipment for you without the need to hit excessive golf balls and risk fatigue during the session.
Please note that a fitting fee applies, however this cost is fully deductible against the purchase of clubs following your fitting.
What to Expect During Your Fitting
Your fitting will take place in our indoor fitting studio, providing a controlled environment where we can accurately analyse your swing and ball flight.
The session will begin with a discussion about your current clubs, playing style and what you would like to improve in your game. From there, we will collect baseline data using TrackMan to understand how your current equipment performs.
You will then test a range of different club heads, shafts and specifications while we monitor the results in real time. By adjusting factors such as shaft type, loft, lie angle and club length, we can gradually refine the setup to find the best possible combination for your swing.
Throughout the session we will explain the results and help you understand how the changes are improving your performance.
By the end of the fitting you will leave with the confidence that your clubs are perfectly matched to your swing, giving you the best opportunity to improve distance, accuracy and consistency on the course.
